United Methodist Women (UMW)

Who are we? What do we do? Why should you join?

United Methodist Women – is a community of women whose PURPOSE is
  • To know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ
  • To develop a creative, supportive fellowship
  • To expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church
We are women organized for mission.
  • Nationally we are a group of 800,000 members who raise 20 million dollars each year for programs and projects related to women, children and youth in the United States and worldwide.
  • Locally we are a group of 125 women organized in 6 small groups of 15-20 called Circles.  Circles meet monthly in members homes for fellowship, spiritual growth and most importantly to support missions.  Use the links below to email the circle leaders.

Our Mission Giving

  • In the past 3 years our members have pledged $25,000 to support United Methodist mission initiatives as well as local charities.
  • In addition our church rallied around our group as we responded to a challenge to take $50 and make it grow for missions.  That $50 was the seed money to start our church’s cookbook, Open Doors.
  • To date over $45,000 has been raised through this effort. Some of the local charities supported through Cookbook funds have been
    • Our church’s own Children First
    • Girls, Inc.
    • Christian Women’s Job Corp
    • ARC
    • Free-2-Teach
    • Christmas Charities Year-Round
    • Financial assistance to our own Youth for their Mission Trips and support to local women on mission trips.
  • In 2012 we have donated a total of $20,000 to local, national, and foreign missions, including the preparation of 75 Hands-on Mission Health Kits and 120 Christmas boxes to be sent through UMCOR to children in Honduras
