Bobbie Lenoir Conner, 66, of Huntsville, passed away last Wednesday. People often say that the best gifts come in the smallest packages and Bobbie Conner was a true example of that. Not often can you find that much spirit and love wrapped up in one petite person, but Bobbie Conner wore that badge with ease. The word “matriarch” doesn’t quite cover what Bobbie Conner was to so many. Bobbie was a treasured daughter, friend, mother, sister, wife and “CoCo.” She loved everyone in her life deeply and often became a roof over someone’s head, a warm meal, a good hug or a helping hand. Bobbie was a true servant of the Lord and is now a guardian angel to all of those who knew her. Bobbie’s love for the Lord started in adolescence and was strengthened through her attendance of Faith Academy in high school and her love for Kenneth Copeland ministries. From an early age, Bobbie was immersed in her community and was known for her joyous personality and unwavering friendship. She was heavily involved in school programs such as Y-Teens, choir, Junior Civitans, band, and was head Tigerette in high school. She later channeled her involvement and love for others by opening her home to many, always able to make even the smallest impact on all who came in contact with her. Bobbie’s love for her community was emphatic and did not stop at being a gracious host and beloved friend to so many. She proudly and passionately served as a volunteer and domestic violence responder for the Huntsville Police Department South Precinct for more than ten years. Bobbie was affectionately known as “Coco” to her family members, close friends and her beloved grandchildren, Saylor Marie Davis, Leighton Lenoir Davis, Olivia Janelle Woodward and William Beckett Conner. Bobbie was preceded in death by her father, Donald Ralph Lenoir and her son, William Jeffrey Conner. Survivors include her loving husband of 37 years, William Alonzo Conner III; her mother, Bobbie Lenoir; her children, Cheryl Conner Woodward (Ben), Kristin Conner Davis (Stephen) and Joshua Michael Conner (Chelsea); and her brothers, Tommy Lenoir (Diane) and Donny Lenoir (Regina). Visitation will be held Monday, March 22, 2021 from 10-11 a.m. at Huntsville First United Methodist Church. Service will take place immediately following at 11 a.m. and will be officiated by Rev. Coy Hallmark. Burial service will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, AL at 3 p.m. Memorials in honor and memory of Bobbie Conner can be made to Crisis Services of North Alabama at P.O. Box 368, Huntsville, AL 35804.
