As we gradually emerge as a society from the ravages of a pandemic, we acknowledge and grieve the bruises and scars it has inflicted on us during these dark days. We have struggled with our demons and perhaps sensed the fear and danger of what can happen when we become isolated from one another. As apathy, depression, and anxiety have threatened to overtake our souls, many have lost a sense of direction, wandering blindly around in the dark. The people of God have walked in the darkness.

But there is a light to be seen in the dark. In the coming of our Savior, Jesus, there is hope for the hopeless, love for the lonely, peace for the distraught, and joy for those who mourn. This holy child sent from God comes into our deep darkness, meeting us where we are, bringing light and abundant life. He walks beside us, showing us the way of the Father, and leading us toward the light of a life lived for Him and through Him. He scatters the darkness so that it cannot overcome us.

So we rub our weary eyes and step out of the darkness and into His marvelous, healing light. Awake, O sleeper, and rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you! Join us for this first Sunday of Advent on November 28 as we read Jeremiah 33:14-16 and 1 Thessalonians 3:9-13, and consider justice and righteousness and what it means to shine the light of love during this season.

Give the gift of music – SIGN UP TODAY! Lessons are offered for all ages and include piano, organ, improvisation, and composition. Questions? Need more info? Ready to reserve your slot? Click HERE!

A called Charge Conference has been set for December 6, 2021 at 8pm, and the meeting will be virtual. As a recipient of the packet and ballot regarding the Boy Scouts of America bankruptcy case, our church must meet in Charge Conference for the purpose of authorizing two trustees to act on behalf of the congregation and cast the church’s ballot prior to the December 14 deadline.

A Zoom link will be sent to elected members of the called Charge Conference.

The main office area will be undergoing some much-needed renovations during the upcoming weeks. The staff has been moved around into other offices & meeting rooms.

If the church phone is not answered immediately – please be patient. Email should be up and running most of the time.
