Traditional Worship

Traditional Worship takes place in the Sanctuary every Sunday at 9:00AM & 11:00 AM

You can expect full organ, piano, choirs, and congregational music as well as an inspiring and challenging sermon from a pastor.  In the mix is always scripture reading, prayer, and announcements for how to get involved in the larger vision of the church.

Traditional worship has been the foundational form of worship at Huntsville First UMC since it was built over 205 years ago.  Each first Sunday of the month Communion is celebrated.  You will find people of all ages and backgrounds worshiping in this style that has been honed from ancient practices of the Christian community since the 3rd century.

Rev. Dr. Glenn Conner, Sr. Pastor at Huntsville First UMC, is the primary preaching pastor.  Rev. Dr. Drew Holland, Rev. Dr. Bill Crosby, Rev. Brittany Camp, Rev. Coy Hallmark, and Rev. Dr. Henry Everitt often help in leading worship, and the team of lay liturgists lead in the reading of scripture and offertory prayer each week.
