Growing with God
We want the children of our church to grow up with a strong footing. Our goal in our Children Ministry is to introduce the children of our congregation to Jesus and walk with them in discovering the love of God.

Ages 4 – 2nd Grade
Held during 9 AM Traditional and Blended services and during 11 AM Traditional and Contemporary services, children age 4 through 2nd grade will be led from the worship spaces after the blessing of the children. In a safe, fun and loving environment, children will experience Bible adventures and participate in hands-on activities.
Children’s Church is held in the Wesley Center Room 208/210. Children will need picked up by a parent or guardian after service.
Nursery
Infants – 3 Year Olds
Welcome to the nursery! Enjoy a worship service or Sunday School class as your child is cared for by our loving and nurturing staff. Check-In is in the Wesley Center towards the Fellowship. They will experience God’s love in this safe environment so you can be free to worship and meet others in the body of Christ.
Sunday Schools
3 Year Olds – Pre-K
Three and four-year-olds gather during the 10:00 hour to explore their relationship with God in their own special environment. When children leave, we want them to know three basic truths: God made me, God loves me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
Kindergarten – Third Grade
10:00 – 10:50 AM. Kindergarten through 3rd-grade children learn that the Bible is never boring and worship is amazing. In our large group setting, children see a Bible story come to life and worship God in a powerful way. In their small group, children break down the day’s Biblical lesson with their small group leader and build relationships with their peers.
When children leave Elementary Sunday School, three basic truths should stick: I need to make a wise choice, I can trust God no matter what, and I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
4th And 5th Grade
10:00 – 10:50 AM. Meeting on the 2nd floor of the Wesley Center, Upper Elementary Sunday School is a great place for our older elementary students. Our students are led by committed adults who help them develop a deeper relationship with God.
Orange Curriculum
Huntsville First Children’s Ministry directly serves children (infants-5th grade) each week but we know we are only one aspect of their spiritual development. Scripture gives parents the task of raising and teaching their children. We hope to partner with you as you faithfully follow God’s Word. We want to supply you with tools, encouragement, and ideas to help your family follow Jesus.
We use Orange curriculum, which was created to help families and churches partner together to influence children and youth to know Christ. If the church is yellow (light of Christ) and the home is red (for Love), when the two are combined for a greater impact, we get Orange. In addition to the curriculum that we use on Sunday mornings, Orange offers great resources for parents. These resources are available at the Orange Store and Amazon. The phase books are especially helpful for each year of your child’s life.
