Music has a vital role as we engage in worship of God. Music imprints scripture and truth on our hearts so that these words learned and sung will remain with us for a lifetime. Our ensembles are welcoming, joyful groups that have fun, share joys and concerns, and most of all, love making beautiful and powerful music as we seek and praise God while engaging people to worship Him!

Advent Children's Choirs
Sanctuary Choir
The Sanctuary Choir sings every Sunday during the 11:00 AM Traditional Service. This choir sings a variety of musical styles, presents major works and special music during the holiday seasons. High School and up are welcome. Ability to read music is preferred, but not required.
Practice is every Wednesday night from 7:00 – 8:30 pm.

Blended Worship Team
The Blended Worship Team leads worship every Sunday during the 9:00 AM New Song Blended Service. The worship team employs a variety of musical styles from traditional hymns to contemporary worship songs accompanied by piano, guitar, bass and drums.
Practice is every Wednesday night from 5:30pm.

Contemporary Worship Team
The Contemporary Worship Team leads worship every Sunday during the 11:00 AM Exalt Contemporary Service. The worship team plays modern contemporary worship songs accompanied by a full band.
Practice is every Wednesday night from 6:30pm.

Specialty Choirs

Children’s Choir
We have three Children’s Choirs to accommodate children ages 3 and under, children age 4 to 1st grade, and children from 2nd grade to 5th grade.
Informal Choir
This informal choir leads worship on the 1st and 3rd Sundays during the 9:00 AM Traditional Service. Rehearsal is at 8:00 AM on those Sundays. No time commitment and no evening rehearsals – just show up and sing!
Women’s Choir
Women of the First Family Singers delight in singing a variety of music from traditional anthems to contemporary praise music. This group leads worship on Sunday morning services once a month during the school year.
Brass Ensemble
Huntsville First’s brass ensemble is open to anyone who has the enthusiasm and desire to be a part of the group, has their own instrument and can practice once a week. The Heavenly Honkers play periodically throughout the year.
Practice is on Wednesdays, 6:00 – 7:00pm.

Handbells
This ensemble of 10-12 ringers plays worshipful, challenging music during the 9:00 and 11:00 AM Traditional Services periodically throughout the year.
Practice is on Sundays, 4:00 – 5:30pm.

Organ
The organ in the Historic Sanctuary was first heard in worship on June 7, 1961 and built by The Schantz Organ Company. In September of 2008, the console was replaced by Miller Pipe Organ Services Inc. and Walker digital stops were added to expand the instrument.

Music plays a big part in a worship service, but there are many ways to use your gifts on a Sunday morning! We’re always looking for people to plug into the service.
