The festive and holy season of Advent and Christmas is just around the corner! There are plans underway to decorate the Wesley Center and the Chrismon Tree in the sanctuary, so that our visiting guests and church family may find warmth and welcome from our decor as much as from each of us. May we count on YOU to help for an hour or three?
Order Poinsettias
Poinsettias will again grace our worship spaces on Sunday, December 10. You may order a poinsettia in honor/memory of a loved one for $20 each. Please make checks out to Huntsville First UMC and drop them off at the reception desk. Poinsettias may be picked up any time after noon on December 10. Deadline to order is Friday, December 1.
Does it make your heart happy to sing the old hymns (and maybe even a few of the newer ones)? Join us December 3 in the Chapel of the Main Building at 6:30pm for a joyful Hymn Sing!
Boar's Head Festival
The colorful Boar’s Head festival has been part of Christmas celebrations since the Middle Ages. These grew and became more elaborate over the centuries, including the Yule Log lighted at Christmas with embers burning all year symbolizing Christ as the Light of the World. Join us at 4:30pm on December 17 in the Historic Sanctuary as we join in the retelling of the sacred story of the hope of Jesus entering our dark world.
All Ages Event
You will not want to miss First Noel, the family event of the season, at Huntsville First. Perfect for all generations, this pasta dinner and interactive nativity event will help usher in the joy of Advent and true meaning of Christmas. Make plans to attend on December 10 today!
Our annual service of Nine Lessons and Carols has nine Bible readings (or lessons), which tell the story of Christmas, with one or two carols (or songs) between each story. Come feel your heart renewed with hope as we experience this beloved service of worship together!
